This yarn originally came from a sweater that was rescued from the last rack of a local thrift store, just before it would have ended up in a landfill. It was meticulously taken apart and unraveled as part of a lengthy and meticulous process involving weighing, measuring, and gently relaxing the yarn. Made from 90% wool and 10% cashmere, it's incredibly soft and warm, thanks to the luxurious cashmere blend. With a thickness of about 16 wraps per inch (wpi), it falls under the Craft Yarn Council's standard weight of 2 - Fine, previously known as sport weight yarn. Each skein contains approximately 130-320 yards, slightly underestimated, for a total of around 1800 yards.
